Japanese Domain Name Testbed (Phase 1) started (6 Nov 2000)

JPNIC started Japanese Domain Name Testbed Phase 1 on 6 Nov 2000.

The objective of Japanese Domain Name Testbed Phase 1 is to provide testing environment that enables users to examine how Japanese Domain Name is configured and operated on DNS, but is not intended to provide solutions that enable various applications to handle Japanese Domain Name. Actually, JPNIC provides DNS server which configured NS, A and PTR records, the most fundamental Resource Records, of a certain Japanese Domain Name on JP zone Name server to enable resolving it on the Internet.
