R.I.P. Dr. Suguru Yamaguchi, Trustee of JPNIC

We regret to learn that Dr. Suguru Yamaguchi, Professor of Nara Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) and a Trustee of JPNIC, passed away on May 9th, 2016, at the age of 52.

Dr. Yamaguchi is widely recognised as a frontier of the Internet in Japan and in other regions. He has made numerous contributions to the Japanese and the global Internet especially in the security area . At JPNIC, he had been serving as a Trustee since May 2002, playing the leading role in its security business, particularly the authentication of the Internet Resources, among number of other contributions.

JPNIC appreciates Suguru Yamaguchi's many years of service to the Internet community and to JPNIC.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family. His passing was a great loss to the global Internet. May he rest in peace.
