2. iTLD (International Top Level Domain Names)の議論

・ JPNICとして積極的に発言すべきかどうか。

・ 幾つかの委員会、会議などで議論が行われているが、例えばISOCには次の情報が
   ある。http://www.isoc.org/whatsnew/itlds.html (textとしては約16KB)
   その目次を下に掲げる。

  1. A schedule of events leading to full implementation;
  2. The establishment of an international ad hoc committee (IAHC) to define
     procedures for submitting proposals to become a registry;
  3. Application submission;
  4. Review and selection process;
  5. Registry contracts;
  6. Registrant appeals process;
  7. Other pertinent criteria such as termination, assignment, and escrow
     issues.

・ 積極的に出るとすれば、IAHCに委員を出すように動く必要がある。


2. NANOG - the North American Network Operators' Group への参加の検討

・ Merit (平原特別委員が現在滞在している)において、10月24, 25日に開催される。

・ http://www.merit.edu/~nanog/NANOG.html に NANOG の説明がある。

   NANOG brings together technical and operations engineers and managers
   from U.S. Internet Service Providers, Federal networks, and the
   interconnection points, as well as representatives from regional networks
   and various Internet registries. NANOG meetings, sponsored by Merit, are
   held three times a year and are hosted by Merit or other participating
   organizations.
